MONTHLY WRAP UP 🍂🍄
Welcome to my first monthly wrap up! I love seeing others’ wrap ups and looking for book recommendations, but I typically get intimidated by those who read like 20+ books a month. That is just not happening for me; so I’ve decided to share my realistic full-time working-girl monthly reads for those of us who are lucky enough to get through a chapter a night. I hope this inspires you to pick up some more books next month and have fun with it. Don’t let the stress of booktok or bookstagram get to you - reading is a relaxing hobby and whatever your pace is, it is perfect for you! Take a look at what I was able to accomplish this month for some book recommendations.
Average Rating: 4.125 ⭐
I was so pleased to have two 5 star reads this month! I knew going into Heir of Fire that it was going to be a favorite of mine - I’m hoping that is the case fir the remaining books as well.
I’ve already reached my yearly goal of reading 15 books this year - this month marks 23 books read! I can’t wait to increase it next year and surpass another goal, but I am not slowing down yet. The past three months or so, I have steadily read four books and I’m hoping to keep on this streak!
With a total of 1,617 pages read this month, I am feeling much better about only completing four books. Heir of Fire was technically an audiobook but it did take me quite some time to get through. As always with Sara J Maas, I could not turn it off once I got to the last hour, so I just drove aimlessly with my jaw on the floor of my car.
I read my first historical fiction of the year, The Frozen River. I really enjoyed it and honestly might dive into other historical fiction books now.
My most popular genre this year has been romance, but I’m looking forward to horror and thriller reads in October for spooky season!
It’s fun to keep track of my reading and be able to share my accomplishments, but it’s also taken a lot of time to stop comparing myself to others. Having already surpassed my reading goal for the year, I am focused on reading books that I want to read and not worrying so much about getting the most popular books. I can’t wait to continue reading this year and will be certain to share reviews of these reads soon!
