MONTHLY WRAP UP ❄️🎄
I’m not gonna lie - all three of this month’s books were completed on audible within the last week of December… It’s just SUCH a busy month and I couldn’t seem to get through any of the books I had started! Once Christmas was over, I was able to wind down with some much needed relaxation and audiobooks. I was really proud of myself for diversifying the romance books I chose, even if they were all in the same genre! Take a peek at my

This month was full of great reads! My favorite was the very last book of the month - One Italian Summer. I have had this on my TBR list for absolute AGES and was so excited to pick it up on audible. It was relatable in so many ways and truly a touching story. I enjoyed Hooked and I’ll Get Back To You as well, but haven’t been thinking of them like I have One Italian Summer.
I was pleased with each of the audiobooks and their narrators. I find that a book can be hit or miss when it comes to listening on audible. For instance, the audiobook version of the Throne of Glass series is really what sold me. I had such a hard time with the names and places trying to start with the physical books that I took a leap trying the audiobooks and LOVED them! If you haven’t expanded your horizons to audiobooks, they are a great option for when you are driving or working, and help to increase the number of books I get to each month!
I decided to count pages this month even though I didn’t physically read any of the books I finished. If we were to count listening hours instead, I reached 24 hours and 32 minutes total! I was really impressed by this number and it made me feel better about not reading anything earlier in the month. I feel like I really pulled it together the end of the month and was happy to get a few more books in!
Most of my 2024 reads were romance, so it’s no surprise that my last three reads of the year were in this genre, as well! Stick to what you love!
Hooked is more of a dark romance and dipped it’s toes into the fantasy genre, though it felt most appropriate to label it as romance. I’ll Get Back To You is a queer, fake-dating romance, and actually put me in the top 10% of LGBTQ+ readers for 2024!
One Italian Summer is not your typical romance - the main character leaves her husband for a trip to Italy and meets a HOT American man. Just as you think they could be falling in love, she begins to realize everything she loves about her husband. I really enjoyed this refreshing and unique storyline of self-discovery and rekindling of relationships. I absolutely would recommend this to you in 2025 if you haven’t read it already!
I did so many amazing things in December - I attended a book binding class at Newbury Street School in Boston, celebrated my 25th birthday with my sister, met my friend’s ADORABLE new baby, and spent such wonderful time with my family. I would have loved to get more reading done this month, but overall I am really proud of myself for expanding my knowledge and being present with the people I love most!
